King Khan's Rakhi Gift To Didi

It was don’s tryst with the police and the result was predictably electrifying. SRK received rakhi from chief minister Mamta Banerjee and promised to return to his “favorite city” for the film festival in November, armed with the better knowledge of the language.

King Khan had the audience swaying to his moves at ‘Jai ho’, the annual Kolkata police event held at the Netaji stadium on Saturday evening at Kolkata. He had local super star and MP Dev for company, while the chief minister was the chief guest. Looking every bit the Don SRK stormed into the stage in a black suit, sporting dark glasses and a pony tail. “Jise gyarah mulko kI police pakad nahin sakti use Kolkata police ne pakad liya”, declared Dev taking off from the famous dialogue of ‘Don’.

SRK nodded in agreement and surrendered happily to the men in uniform. He went on to match steps with them on the dais sang together and even took an impromptu lesson in Bangla. “Thank you very much Didi for having me over: “1 Iss bar main time pe pahochh gaya.  Main jab bhi late aata hoon to Didi bahot gussa karti hai” .

It was Mamata Banerjee’s turn to do her part and tied rakhi around her wrist and SRK touched her feet. “This on behalf of the people of Bengal” said Mamata. SRK said, “I am so happy that didi loves me so much. But I was not ready for this and am not carrying a gift. But I promised to send you a gift tomorrow” he said. “Having you there is a gift in itself” said Mamata Didi. It was then time to set the stage on fire which the bollywood badshah did with aplomb in his trademark energetic manner. He jumped swayed and swirled holding out his arm in his customary style and the audience went wild. The evening was flagged off with SRK dancing with a lady constable echo was asked to come on stage. He then had Dev matching steps with him for ‘chhaiya chhaiya’.
